The Energy of Beautiful Skin
NAD+, the molecule at the heart of the longevity movement, has moved from the IV lounge to the vanity. We asked what it can truly do for your face, and what it can't.

There is a particular kind of tired that no concealer quite reaches. It lives beneath the surface: the dullness after a long-haul flight, the grey cast of a demanding season, the face that looks older in the morning than it did a year ago. Increasingly, scientists describe that look in terms of energy. And the molecule they keep returning to is NAD+.
In wellness circles, NAD+ has become a quiet obsession. Clients book infusions between board meetings. Biohackers track their NMN and NR the way others track steps. So it was inevitable that the question would reach our treatment room: can I put it on my skin?
The short answer
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme skin cells use to produce energy and repair daily damage, and its levels decline with age and sun exposure. Topically, it works best when paired with niacinamide, the small vitamin B3 molecule skin converts into NAD+, alongside antioxidants such as resveratrol and hydrators such as hyaluronic acid. Used morning and night beneath SPF, an NAD+ serum visibly improves radiance, smoothness and the look of fine lines. It supports tired skin; it does not replace sunscreen, retinoids or professional care.
Chapter oneWhat is NAD+, and why does skin need it?
NAD+ is present in every living cell. Picture it as the currency cells spend to make energy inside the mitochondria and to fuel the enzymes that mend DNA after ultraviolet light, pollution and stress. Among those enzymes are the sirtuins, a family of proteins researchers associate with healthy cellular aging.
The difficulty is time. Research measuring human skin has found lower NAD+ levels in older tissue, and UV exposure accelerates the decline. With less NAD+ in reserve, cells have less energy to renew and repair. On the surface, it reads as dullness, slower recovery and the loss of that rested, lit-from-within look we all recognize in younger skin.
“Radiance isn't a finish you apply. It's what healthy, energized skin looks like.”
From our founder's treatment room notes
Chapter twoDoes topical NAD+ actually work?
We would rather tell you the truth than sell you a slogan, so here it is.
NAD+ is a large molecule. At roughly 663 daltons, it sits above the approximate 500 dalton threshold that passes most easily through the skin barrier. Applied alone, it is unlikely to travel deep. That is precisely why a serious NAD+ serum should never rely on NAD+ by itself.
Niacinamide is its natural partner. A form of vitamin B3, niacinamide is a direct precursor cells use to build NAD+. It is small, penetrates well and ranks among the most studied ingredients in dermatology, with clinical research showing visible improvements in fine lines, uneven tone, blotchiness and barrier strength.
The result is a strategy, not a single hero. Our formula gives skin both the molecule and the raw material to make its own, then surrounds them with antioxidants and hydrators that address visible fatigue from the very first application.

Inside the bottle
Vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance-free and oil-free. One ounce of glass, two to three drops at a time.
- NAD+
- The cellular energy coenzyme behind repair and sirtuin activity.
- Niacinamide
- Vitamin B3, the NAD+ precursor, for texture, tone and barrier.
- Resveratrol
- A grape-derived polyphenol that defends against free radicals.
- 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid
- A stable, gentle vitamin C for luminous, even tone.
- Hyaluronate, seaweed & collagen
- Water-binding hydrators for instant plumpness and a silken finish.
Chapter threeNAD+, retinol or peptides?
They are not rivals. Each has its own role, and the most beautiful skin usually comes from a considered combination.
| NAD+ & niacinamide | Retinol | Peptides | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary role | Energy, repair support, radiance | Accelerates cell turnover | Firmness, smoother expression lines |
| Irritation | Very low | Moderate to high | Low |
| Daytime use | Yes, beneath SPF | Evening only | Yes |
| Ideal for | Dull, stressed or mature skin | Texture, deeper lines | Laxity, crepiness |

Chapter fourWho it is for
In our studio, NAD+ is the first thing we reach for with mature skin that looks tired despite a full night's sleep; with complexions worn down by travel, late nights and relentless schedules; with sensitive skin that cannot tolerate strong acids yet still deserves a genuine anti-aging step; and with the longevity-minded, who already invest in NMN, NR or NAD+ therapy and want their skincare to match.
It is also, increasingly, the one serum men actually use. The texture is weightless, sinks in within seconds and leaves no shine.
Chapter fiveThe ritual
Morning and evening, this is how we layer it.
-
Cleanse. A gentle cleanser, then pat the skin dry.
-
Energize. Press two to three drops of NAD+ Resveratrol Collagen Serum into the face, neck and décolleté, finishing with upward circular strokes.
-
Firm. Once absorbed, layer GHK-Cu Copper Peptide Serum for firmness, or SNAP-8 Peptide Serum for expression lines.
-
Seal. Finish with Peptide Collagen Repair Cream.
-
Protect. By day, a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Sunscreen guards the NAD+ your skin already has.
The questions we're asked mostNAD+ skincare, answered
What does NAD+ do for your skin?
NAD+ supports the energy production and repair processes inside skin cells. Because levels decline with age, NAD+ skincare helps skin look more rested, radiant and resilient, particularly when paired with niacinamide and antioxidants.
Can I use NAD+ serum with retinol?
Yes. NAD+ and niacinamide are soothing and barrier-supportive, so they pair beautifully with retinol. Use the serum morning and night, and apply retinol only in the evening once the serum has absorbed.
Can I use NAD+ serum with vitamin C?
Yes. Our formula already includes 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, a stable vitamin C. The old warning that niacinamide and vitamin C cancel each other out stems from outdated testing with unstable ingredients.
Is NAD+ serum suitable for sensitive skin?
Generally, yes. Our formula is fragrance-free, oil-free and includes soothing aloe. Patch test on the jawline for 24 hours before full use.
Is a topical NAD+ serum the same as IV therapy or supplements?
No. Infusions and oral supplements such as NMN and NR work throughout the body; a serum works locally on the skin you apply it to. Many longevity-focused clients use both.
Can I use NAD+ serum during pregnancy?
Please consult your doctor before introducing any new active skincare while pregnant or breastfeeding.
What makes a good NAD+ serum?
Look for NAD+ paired with niacinamide rather than NAD+ alone, antioxidants such as resveratrol, no added fragrance, and protective glass packaging. Our NAD+ Resveratrol Collagen Serum was formulated by a Master Esthetician to exactly these standards.
